First steps if you got in
#1 Confirm your admission
Results are posted on the UIS admissions page on the date set by the academic calendar, usually in the afternoon. Don't wait for an email: UIS doesn't message every admitted student that day. If your name shows up next to a program, you're already in.
#2 Download your admission letter
This is the most important document in the whole process. It has your personal enrollment finalization dates, your student code, and your temporary password. Download and save it as soon as it's available. You don't need to sign or stamp it, just upload it as is. If several hours go by and it hasn't shown up, email inscripciones@uis.edu.co.
#3 The steps, in order
First you download the letter. Then you calculate your tuition amount based on your socioeconomic form. Then you pay, or apply for zero tuition if you qualify. Finally, you finalize your enrollment by uploading your documents to the platform. It's all done online, you don't need to bring folders to campus.
#4 Which date counts?
The one on your letter. If you see a different date on the public document list, that's not a mistake: UIS staggers finalization dates per applicant so the review doesn't get overloaded. Upload everything as early as you can, that way you have room to fix anything if they ask.
#5 Code and password
They come in the letter and sometimes also reach your personal email. You'll use them to log into the student system for the first time. If you can't find the password, ask inscripciones@uis.edu.co.
#6 The placement test doesn't cost you your spot
After finalizing your enrollment, you'll take a placement test. It's only diagnostic: UIS uses it to plan academic support. Your spot is already secured and doesn't depend on the result.
#7 It's not over yet
Once your enrollment finalization is confirmed, you still have the medical checkup, the placement test, orientation, and the cátedra UIS ahead of you. You'll get emails with the dates, sometimes with short notice, so check your inbox often in the weeks before classes start.
